Vision Statement

Where Student Scholars Discover Their Academic Passion

See an actual moon rock!

On Thursday, November 5, the Deer Valley High School ACE Academy will sponsor a special planetarium show called "Back to the Moon for Good," about a contest to send a space probe to the moon.  After the show, we will show an actual moon rock on loan from NASA.  If you've never seen a moon rock in person, now's your chance.  Come to the planetarium in room 511 on Thursday at 7 PM to see.poster-back_to_the_moon_for_good-600.jpg

About ACE

We provide students with opportunities to become expert in a STEAM field of their choice.

What is STEAM?

STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.   ACE believes in educating students in a liberal arts tradition, bringing skills from all areas to bear on learning.

ACE’s Mission is to

  • make students college and career ready by providing pathways and opportunities for students to investigate and explore their field of study.
  • mentor our students to make informed decisions regarding their future.
  • give our students opportunities to become independent, creative, self-motivated, life-long learners and critical thinkers.

Research Mentoring Available

ACE wants to support your independent research.  Do you need a place to work?  Access to a computer? A place to get answers?  Come to room 511 Fridays after school to get assistance with your project.   Support is available for students wishing to enter the Contra Costa Science Fair, or do any other kind of ACE-compatible research.  We will pay the entry fees for up to 10 student groups, and have some limited funds available for the purchase of special equipment and supplies.  See Mr. Adkins for details.  Science Fair Research Workshop meets every Friday from 3 - 5 PM in room 511.
