DEER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL HONORS COURSES

Challenge yourself and prepare for success in AP courses by enrolling in an honors course.

Honors and advanced courses are accelerated courses.  Successfully completing the courses will require more time and work, but overall are a great opportunity to achieve individual accomplishment and build confidence.  The foundational skills learned and confidence built is a great way to start a rigorous course of study in high school.

Advanced English 9 CP

Advanced English 10 CP

Spanish 3 Honors

AP Testing Fees

Each AP Exam will cost $91 this year. The College Board is charging $91 for each AP exam.  Each student that chooses to take 3 or more tests will receive a small discount and pay $85 only per exam. Please see the registration form below!

ADVANCED PLACEMENT(AP) COURSES

AP courses are college-level courses taught in high school on a variety of subjects.  Students who want to challenge themselves with more rigorous coursework, have an advanced preparation for college or are just passionate about a specific subject are encouraged to enroll.

Curious about the challenge, but still not sure about AP? Don’t be afraid to ask. Stop in and talk to an AP teacher. Make an appointment with your  School Counselor. Talk to your friends who take or have taken AP classes. Check the website or contact the admissions office of the college of your choice. Visit AP central online at www.collegeboard.com 

There are various individual criteria to consider when deciding which AP courses to take and how many AP courses to take.
